HIGHEST FORM OF HOPE
As we approach our 10th year of AYRTIGHT, it’s easy to get lost in the business of it all, but this last year has forced me to reflect on what brings me joy. Having had unquestionably the most challenging emotional year of my life, I’ve found most comfort when I’ve wandered down the path of art in all of its forms.
I found myself learning more about French artist Yves Klein and his signature blue colour that is as stoic as it is dynamic. I renewed my passion for celebrating the music that makes me groove, prompting the curation of our monthly MOM playlists. I happened upon a quote by German artist Gerhard Richter that resonated so deeply with me that I have it displayed prominently as a reminder to focus on the reason I started AYRTIGHT. Hope.
For S/S 2025, we’re launching a new art. collection, acronym for A Rare Thing. art. winks at Richter offering only limited edition, unisize pieces with a gracious fit that are both dramatic yet unapologetically easy. Labelled with a bold blue label that nods to Yves Klein, art. consists of the pieces that I personally want to wear.
The addition of art. did not take energy away from our mainline collection, if anything it re-energized my focus. It challenged me to consider where my art fits. What I’m trying to say. How I’m trying to make people feel. It reminded me that I firmly believe that a little irony and imperfection are exactly what I want to celebrate in a wardrobe, but also in the women I know and love. Perfect is boring.
My path forward is hope. I hope you’ll join me.
