I gave my momma a ring for her birthday many years ago that she cherished. It wasn’t fancy, silver with hand-stamped text ‘AT FIRST GLANCE I LOVED YOU WITH A THOUSAND HEARTS’, but it was very us.
Through joys and harrowing illness, her ring stayed with her and was a gentle reminder of how loved she was.
In her honor and to bring life to the ring that gave her strength and comfort, we have started The 1000 Hearts Project.
Mama J loved animals. She wanted to be a large animal veterinarian before the practicalities of life led her down a more stable path. In this spirit, $2 for every heart pin that finds its ladybug way out into the world will be donated to animal based charities.
Our first beneficiary will be The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary in Aldergrove, BC to support their work providing a joyful forever home to rescued farm animals.
